About this blog

From a toddler, I've been brought up with the 'Outdoors' in my blood. As a child growing up in Wisconsin, with our wide range in climate, I learned to enjoy what nature gave us each year. My parents were avid campers, roughing it in canvas tents and shabby sleeping bags. I thought a Pudgy Pie was a staple for dinner. My father was a great influence, taking my brother and I along any chance he could to hunt or fish. My Grandfather was also a true outdoorsman. He taught us to respect the land and what it meant to harvest an animal. Only taking what was legal and always leaving the land as it was. Growing up, I would spend all summer fishing the Fox river from Little Chute to Kaukauna. There wasn't a branch or honey hole I didn't know about. Once I was able to drive, the only thing on my mind during school, was what I was going to hunt when school let out. While my buddies chased girls, I chased pheasant. Today it's even more about the experience than the rush of catching the big walleye or shooting a beautiful grouse, it's about the breath of fresh air and adventure of scouting new land. Nothing compares to the smell of damp leaves on a crisp fall day. Hope you enjoy my view of nature as we discuss the beauty of what the 'Outdoors' has to offer in Wisconsin.
